What to Expect

You will immediately feel at home the moment you walk in the door.

Since Chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance.  We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance.  No surprises!

The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you will enjoy. It’s that simple.  So check us out here.  Poke around.  Get to know us.  Then, contact us to make an appointment so we can get to know you.

Your First Visit (Estimated time 30 min.)

Goal: Find out if we can help you, we ask questions and listen.

You’ll be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home.  Help is on the way!  New patients often remark how “homey” and supportive our office is.  That’s good, because our goal is to offer state of the art chiropractic care in a comfortable, healing surrounding.  So make yourself at home.

Vancouver area chiropractic patients appreciate we explain things first.

You’ll be greeted by name and with a smile. We’ll have some short paperwork to fill out and you will then be given a short tour to get you acquainted with our facilities.  You will then meet the doctor.  The purpose of your consultation is to discuss your health concerns and goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you.  If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.   We will perform a Myovision scan of your nervous system. If necessary, to gain more information you may be sent for further tests (ie x-ray/MRI).   After a brief explanation of your condition, based on the doctor’s professional judgment a gentle spinal adjustment may or may not be done on your first visit.

Your Second Visit (Estimated time 20 min.)
Supportive therapies compliment the chiropractic care you receive in our Vancouver office

Goal:   Report to you, in detail, our findings from the first visit and answer all your questions and offer options.  Set health goals.

After we study your health history and correlate our examination findings, we’ll make recommendations designed to help you get and keep your health.  We call this the Report of Findings.  Only when everything has been explained to you do we proceed to begin treatment.  If you provided us with insurance information on the first visit we will completely explain your coverage so you will know exactly what your benefits are.

Your Regular Visit (Estimate 5-10 min)

Goal: Progress to achieve health goals.  Avoid relapse.

Dr. Pow has found placing a heat pack on your spine to be extremely beneficial in getting a great chiropractic adjustment!

As you can see, the time for regular visits are much shorter, but don’t think the brevity lessens its importance or value.  With the groundwork laid, we can analyze your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way.  We recognize your time is valuable.  We do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.

After signing in, you will be taken to a room and a specially designed heat pack will be placed on your back.  This helps reduce the days stress in your spine.  Dr. Pow has found this to be extremely beneficial in getting a great chiropractic adjustment.  To compliment the adjustment, often you will be placed on a “roller” table that many patients comment they want to take home with them.

How do you "catch" a cold?
Simply lower your resistance by avoiding the proper rest and exercise, eating lots of sugar and junk food, putting up with emotional stress and neglecting your nervous system by avoiding your chiropractor. You won't have to catch a cold because it will catch you!
How do most people deal with vertebral subluxations?
First, they try to ignore them. When they don't, they go to the medicine cabinet to stop their brain from feeling the symptom. Later, back surgery may be threatened. Sadly, it's not until this later stage that they consult our Vancouver chiropractic office. Yet, even with the delay, most are delighted by the results produced by today's chiropractic care.
